CHAPTER I // ORIGINS UPSTATE NEW YORK // EARLY YEARS
I grew up in the kind of place where the sky is the most interesting thing in the room. Long seasons, real weather, and enough quiet to think. That combination turned out to be the right soil for the two things I've spent most of my life chasing: flight and systems. The earliest version of me was a kid who wanted to understand how everything worked, then break it, then put it back together slightly better. That instinct never went away. It just got more disciplined.
CHAPTER II // THE POOL HIGH SCHOOL
Competitive swimming taught me most of what I know about performance under fatigue. I swam at the top of my team, qualified for states, and ended up in leadership positions because the older kids stopped showing up to morning practice and I didn't. The water is a good teacher because it doesn't care. It doesn't care that you stayed up too late, that the set is long, that your shoulder hurts. It holds you accountable to one metric: did you move or didn't you. That's a useful worldview to carry into everything else. I also learned that consistent output beats heroic output. The kid who hits every practice at 85% finishes the season faster than the kid who hits two practices a week at 110%. I've applied that rule to code, to school, and to military training.
CHAPTER III // TWO NOMINATIONS, ONE CHOICE THE ACADEMY DECISION
I received nominations to both the United States Air Force Academy and the United States Naval Academy. I was waitlisted at Annapolis. Colorado Springs said yes. The interesting thing is that even if Annapolis had come through, I'm not sure I would have gone. By the time the decisions landed, I'd already spent enough time thinking about what I actually wanted — not the prestige of the uniform, but the specific mission — and the Air Force path fit better. The flying I want to do is Air Force flying. The engineering I want to do sits closer to aerospace and electrical systems than it does to naval ones. So I put on blues.
CHAPTER IV // FIRST YEAR AT USAFA FRESHMAN CADET
The Academy strips you down to see what's actually there. That's the point. Everything is deliberately hard, deliberately early, deliberately structured so that the comfortable patterns you came in with get exposed and replaced. I'm majoring in territory that overlaps aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, physics, and cybersecurity. The long plan is aviation — pilot training, commission in the Air Force. The short plan is to survive plebe year without letting my side projects die. This is where the motto I keep coming back to earns its keep: *growth dies in comfortability.* If I'm comfortable, I'm coasting, and I didn't come here to coast.
CHAPTER V // BUILDING IN THE MARGINS SIDE PROJECTS
Outside of academics I've been shipping software. More than I probably should be, honestly, but the projects are the thing that keeps the other parts of my life in proportion. Soundara is the biggest — an audio processing platform that applies binaural and brainwave frequencies to uploaded audio, with a real payment flow, a real user base, and infrastructure that costs real money every month. It started as an experiment in whether I could ship something end-to-end. It turned into a product. Scan-to-Cart came out of a frustration with how bad grocery pricing transparency is. JARVIS was built because I wanted to understand agent orchestration from the ground up, not from a tutorial. The trading bots are my way of making markets legible to myself. Every one of these projects has taught me something I couldn't have learned in a classroom. Not because the classroom is bad — the classroom is excellent — but because the failure modes are different. A bug in a homework problem costs me points. A bug in a live payment flow costs me users.
CHAPTER VI // WHAT I BELIEVE OPERATING PRINCIPLES
A few things I've come to believe strongly enough to write down: Honor, courage, and commitment are real. They're not slogans painted on a wall. They're the three vectors that decide whether a plan survives contact with reality. Most of society's problems are downstream of people not being willing to do hard things. The solution is not waiting for other people to change. The solution is being one of the ones who does. Close relationships matter more than wide ones. I keep my circle small and my standards high for the people in it. That's not coldness. That's honesty about where my time and attention actually go. Comfort is the enemy of the thing I'm trying to become.
CHAPTER VII // WHAT'S NEXT FORWARD TRAJECTORY
Commissioning. Pilot training. Flying real aircraft in real conditions for a service whose values I actually share. Alongside that: continuing to ship. Soundara becomes profitable or it doesn't, but either way the next thing is already in the pipeline. The portfolio of projects is the portfolio of attempts, and the only way to get good attempts is to keep making them. I don't know the full shape of the next ten years. I know the next ten months. That's been enough so far. This site exists because I wanted one place to point to when someone asks what I'm doing.
